Trimming
Newgate Kennels provides a full canine grooming service.
 Clare heads the team in the "beauty parlour" and has over 11 years of grooming experience. Originally trained by Patsy (Newgates groomer for over 30 years) Clare has since trained a number of staff. Her latest trainee is Jenny who is dividing her time between the grooming room and her reception duties.
 A typical day for your dog would include access to an exercise run on arrival and frequent breaks during grooming. A full body massage whilst enjoying a warm shower in tropical scented shampoos and then it is time to relax while being gently dried. Your dog’s hair can then be styled according to your requirements. Finally a pedicure. On completion, dogs enjoy the rest of the day relaxing on fleece bedding again with access to an exercise run and water.
 Our regular grooming days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Depending on the breed and what you would like doing, you can
make a morning, afternoon or all day appointment. We usually need
3 weeks notice for grooming appointments particularly busy times
for grooming are spring/early summer and before Christmas.
You do not have to be a boarding client
at Newgate to use our grooming service.
The groomers will be happy to have a quick consultation with you.
We keep all of our trimming details on record so we can always
check back and look at previous treatments your dog may have had.
The 'day of beauty' includes:
- preparation of coat
- bathing
- drying
- coat conditioners
- hand stripping for wire haired breeds
- breed specific styles
- check nails and glands
- consultation with groomer
 So
if you would like to book your dog in to have a 'day
of beauty' we will try to find an appointment that best
suits you.

The following prices are a general guide, charges depend on the
dog’s coat and time spent being groomed.
