Celebrating our 75th Birthday!
This month is very special as we celebrate 75 years since Jess Millett (or Grandma as she was known to everyone) founded the company. Grandma purchased a 2 bedroom house on our current site in 1948, the land included one kennel block consisting of five kennels for the resting of racing Greyhounds. Grandma immediately expanded the kennels, added a cattery and diversified into breeding Bulldogs and Airedales.
Grandma’s Crufts winning Bulldog, called Shevythorn Solo, has been our company logo ever since.
Over the years the site has had huge expansion and improvements to our current form of 16 individual kennel blocks consisting of 138 kennels, 4 catteries consisting of 57 chalets along with our Small Animal room & gardens, grooming salon and pet shop.
We can’t imagine the number of pets we’ve had the pleasure of looking after over the last 75 years, but Grandma’s philosophy remains our policy to this day…
‘to treat every pet as if it was our own’.
