Hello from all of us

Hello from all of us

Saturday 30th May 2020

Hello
from all of us!

We hope you are keeping well; we are all still okay here at Newgate.

Pet Shop

Our Pet Shop remains open 7 days-a-week 8am-6pm, it is well stocked, and we continue to have weekly deliveries. If you’re self-isolating and require pet supplies, please call the office on 01625 525409 and we will do all we can to arrange to deliver the items to your home.

Grooming

Appointments for existing clients are available from early July.  Our current grooming team, consisting of Clare, Ellie, Anna and Jasmyn, have been working really hard over the past 3 weeks and are getting through the backlog of appointments cancelled during the 6-week suspension of our grooming service.

To ensure a safe working environment we have a reduced number of grooming staff (4 instead of the usual 8) resulting in a lower capacity of dogs being trimmed. We hope to increase this capacity when it’s safe to do so.

Boarding

Our boarding service remains fully operational, including our day creche service. If you have a confirmed booking in the coming weeks which you no longer require, please email or ring the office to cancel. Our computer system is now able to send specific emails relating to your enquiry rather than the generic ‘booking confirmation’ email. To make it easier for you, the emails are titled Confirmation, Amendment and Cancellation based on your request. We have also started to send Reminder emails of upcoming bookings.

Vaccinations

A number of you have been in touch for advice regarding annual boosters. We know that veterinary practices did suspend routine vaccinations at the beginning of the lockdown.  Now measures are being relaxed, local vets have begun booster vaccinations again.  We have been informed that annual vaccinations can lapse by up to 3 months without you having to start the course again.  However, if your pet is due to board with us they must be covered by their booster vaccination and in addition, for dogs their kennel cough vaccination. These vaccinations must be in-date.  Due to kennels & catteries being classed as high risk, for the health of your pet we are unable to make any exceptions.

Puppies!

Whilst the kennels have been quiet, we have been delighted to help in the rehoming of 7 adorable puppies.  Pat (one of our administrators) is also a volunteer re-homer with Thameside and Glossop RSPCA.  Pat and her colleagues have now found forever homes for all 7, we’ll miss them!

Covid-secure

The health and safety of you, your pets and our staff have always been our primary concern. Following ongoing government guidance, we have implemented numerous new policies and procedures to ensure that the reception, grooming rooms, catteries and kennels all conform to the covid-secure status.

Lastly, to reiterate, all our staff continue to follow strict hygiene measures including regular handwashing, applying hand sanitiser between clients and regularly cleaning the reception desks and credit card machine.

Please keep checking our website and Facebook page for further updates, or email info@newgatekennels.co.uk. You can also call the office on 01625 525409.

Thank-you again for your co-operation and for your continued support.
