Meet The Reception Team



Lucy is our Reception Manager and is ably assisted by Sophie, Jess and Julie. All members of our Front of House team have completed their N.V.Q Level 2 Customer Service, or our comprehensive in-house training.

Reception Manager

I have been working at Newgate Kennels since September 2011, since then I have achieved two NVQ qualifications in Animal Care Level 2 and Customer Service Level 2. My favourite breeds are the British and French Bulldogs as I have 2 at home as well as a Jack Russell and a Pug.

Sophie

Receptionist/ Merchandise

I joined Newgate Kennels in 2002 as a part time member of staff and in 2007 became full time. I have since completed 3 NVQ’s in Customer Service Level 2, Management Level 3 and Animal Care Level 3. After the birth of my two sons in 2015 and 2017, I now split my time between caring for my children and working part time. I love working at Newgate Kennels as I get to see all my favourite animals, and enjoy getting to knew new clients and their pets. I can’t say I have a favourite breed of cat or dog as working here has taught me its all about the pet’s personality.

Jess

Receptionist/ Kennel Assistant

I have worked at Newgate Kennels since 2014. My favourite breed of dog is a Newfoundland and I have a Yorkipoo called Tilly who is very cheeky and was first brought to Newgate Kennels as a rescue by the RSPCA. I am currently hoping to go to university to study History.

Julie

Receptionist

I joined the Newgate team in 2019 with almost 20 years previous experience working in animal care. I am really enjoying my training in grooming and getting to know our regular clients. It’s a lovely environment to work in with some great people. I’ve owned many furry friends over the years and currently have a cat called Jammy Dodger. I hope to have another dog and more rats in the future.
