Boarding & Day Crèche

A happy pet is a healthy pet. Our philosophy is to treat your pet just how you would – with care and affection. We ensure we learn as much about your pet as possible, before they come to stay at Newgate.

DOG BOARDING

We welcome your dog into a happy caring environment. We know every dog is an individual but one thing they all thrive on is routine.

If you are bringing your dog into us please be aware that ALL dogs must be in by 2pm!

This is due to our licensing laws and hours. We also prefer the dogs to settle into our routine during daylight.

We enclose a registration card in the new client pack. We ask you to complete the front. We then complete the back when you first board your pet. This enables us to record your pet’s likes and dislikes, home diet and any medical details including their current vaccinations.

Should your pet(s) require medical attention, it is our policy to use our clients own vet, whenever possible. We are also fortunate in that we can call on our local mobile vet Claire McArdle. Claire calls in on a regular basis, primarily to give health checks to pets that are travelling abroad.

It is worst for you, honest! We suggest bringing your pet(s) early in the day, to help them settle into their routine.

It is advisable not to feed your cats in the morning before they are to come to us (often they will eat and go off for the rest of the day until tea time).Try to be positive! Cats and dogs are very sensitive and will pick up on any stress or upset you show.

Business hours – Whilst the kennels are staffed 24 hours a day, we ask clients to respect our business hours.

The management reserve the right to refuse animals outside the stated hours, which are:

  • We are open 7 days a week
  • Dogs: checking in 8.00 am – 2.00 pm, checking out 8.00 am – 6.00 pm
  • Cats and Small Animals: checking in and out 8.00 am – 6.00pm
  • Shop and Spa: 8.00 am – 6.00 pm
  • Whilst the kennels and cattery are fully staffed for pet care the reception will be closed on Christmas day and New Years day.

All animals must be fully vaccinated, this includes the kennel cough vaccine for dogs. Due to the numerous vaccines we recommend seeking your vets advice. Please bring your pets vaccination certificates when presenting them at the reception.

The kennels are licensed by Cheshire East Council and inspected annually by a vet appointed by them.

We do not advertise our business, new clients usually come to us on recommendation from our current clients or vets. Whilst vets frequently look around the kennels, we unfortunately do not allow the general public or clients to look around. Please consider the following points: (1) disturbance to animals already boarding (2) bringing in viral infections (3) security reasons and (4) insurance.

We can only take a certain number of new clients per year. This is because the booking system we use will only allow a set number of clients on the database. This is to give all existing clients a chance to make a booking, especially during our busy times and throughout this year.

Once you have made your first booking we will send you a new client pack. Please look through this and follow the check list. For the first time of boarding we require payment 4 weeks before the arrival date.

We do set aside emergency accommodation. In the case of a real emergency e.g. bereavement, hospitalisation, we will always do our utmost to help you although we cannot guarantee availability.

Your pets are more than just pets, they're family too!
